Rustle your Bustle
Saturdays 2:00 & 7:00
Rip Van Winkle + Vaudeville
This American folktale of a man who slept for twenty years, has long been associated with the Virginia City Players. The role, originated on the Opera House stage by Ben Tone, has always been a fan favorite of Opera House patrons, being performed many times over the Player’s illustrious 75-year history! Rip Van Winkle plus a short vaudeville show will be performed on Fridays at 7:00, Saturdays at 2:00 & 7:00, and Sundays at 2:00 from June 16 – July 23.
In an effort to adapt to the wishes of our audience, for the first time this year, we will be offering a vaudeville show presented on its own, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 4:00pm. A shortened version of this vaudeville show will accompany the melodrama performances on Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays. A Rustle Your Bustle Vaudeville Show will be offered during the week from June 20 – July 20, and an all-new Rustle Your Bustle will be performed during the week for the month of August, so be sure to come back and catch all of the laughter! The Players performed a show they called Rustle Your Bustle in the 1950’s and this image is based on the original artwork from over 70 years ago!
